Sunny Days

Two sunny days in a row.  I have just come from my morning stroll. Today I walked through town. There is a field, not far from here, that is a wildflower delight.

The chicory is in bloom. This site, with a little managment, would be a treasure.

Rain Again

Another rainy day, yesterday was nearly perfect but the rain has returned. My tomatoes are in full bloom, but the lack of heat and the presence of so much rain has me concerned.

Will they fruit and will that fruit ripen?

Cars and Crosswalks

It never ceases to amaze me how many drivers here ignore crosswalks. Now some are not well marked, the road signs informing the driver are fading as qre the crosswalk lines, but despite that, there are signs on the side of the road which are in plain sight.

These signs warn drivers that there is a crosswalk ahead.

If the driver sees someone standign by the road side facing the road and near the curb and there is a warning sign on a  nearby pole and the driver is traveling slow enough then why not stop?

Some do and some do not.

Overall, the drives here are polite, they let you cross even where there is no crosswalk but the ones that insist on driving through the crosswalk even when they are driving slow are not fit to be on the road.

Sheep Weed Vineyards

Sheep have an image that paints them as followers, woolly headed thinkers who can't make up their one mind, well this may be apt but sheep can be trained to weed vineyards and leave the grapes alone.

Golf Courses and Wildlife Conservation

Many environmentalists consider golf courses to be a waste of space, partially, because it requires considerable energy to maintain them in the condition that golf demands. But what if they served another purpose as wildlife conservation areas.

New Agrofuel

In the agrofuel world there is a new player in town, one that has advantages that the other players do not have. The pretty pink seaside mallow is a possible contender in the agrofuel industry.
